Capturing the silence
between moments.

I'm Dimo — a portrait photographer based in Uusikaupunki, Finland, spending most of my time with people in front of the camera, and lately, with whatever quiet detail catches my eye in the Finnish countryside.

The Narrative

Photography found me early, through my father. Our home kept a small collection of old film cameras and the memory of a home darkroom, and long before I owned a camera of my own, a photograph already felt to me like something built by hand. In 2008 I bought my first camera, a Nikon D300, and what started as a hobby has stayed with me ever since.

My focus has always been portraits — real people, caught in an honest, unguarded moment. More recently, working from Uusikaupunki on the Finnish coast, I've found myself drawn to something smaller too: close-up details, textures, the quiet corners of nature around me.

Most of my experience — weddings, events, christenings — comes from Bulgaria, where I'm originally from. Finland is a newer chapter for my camera, though I'm always open to projects further afield.
